


Very few episodes here are actually funny, and that's because a lot of the jokes this season are more "meta" (please take this the wrong way).

It's one of the most average things I've seen. That's really all I could take from this season, I didn't react that strongly to it. I'll say the jokes here are still way funnier than the ones in S3, but what does that really mean? Less than half the episodes got a good and above, meaning that the rest is just. The season started off promising, but after The Console, all the episodes had that same feeling S3 had where the plotlines were fine I guess but man, the jokes do not land that well. The thing is, season 5 leans a lot harder in S3's direction than the first two & S4, which I really do not appreciate. I've already stated what I expected from this season in my Gumball Season 4 Scorecard, but to reiterate: I thought that season 4 did a good job at balancing what S1-2 did and what S3 tried to do.
